JEFF YOUNG

Jeff Young is an artist and educator working primarily in drawing. He earned the B.F.A. in Art Education at Texas Tech University and the M.A. and Ph.D. in Art Education at the University of North Texas. In his graduate programs he focused on drawing as the studio component of the degrees. Along with exhibiting work in faculty exhibits at the University of Central Arkansas (UCA), Young’s work has been displayed in 47 juried exhibitions in Texas, Arkansas, Rhode Island, Indiana, New Mexico, Tennessee, and Missouri.

In addition to his studio work, Young has coauthored seven articles related to art education published in journals such as Art Education, Studies in Art Education, and Visual Arts Research, and has presented or co-presented in over fifty state, national, and international art education and education conferences.

Recently retired from UCA, Young continues to teach and make work. As a member of the Central Arkansas Collective, he exhibits regularly in the ARC Gallery in the Studio Downtown in Conway. His work has been acquired by the Fort Smith Regional Art Museum and is in several private collections.
